Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tells a cute story of the alphabet letters climbing to the top of the coconut tree, then the tree sways as the last few letters reach the top and they all fall from the tree. No need to worry, there are a few minor injuries but nothing serious. The adult letters come out to care for their fallen letters. The story ends with the young letters preparing to mount another offensive on the tree.
The prose in the story rhymes and rolls off the tongue. The often repeated phrase "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! Will there be enough room?" really grabs the attention of the young child. It is a fun read with silly portions like "Skit skat skoodle doot. Flip flop flee." mixed in with the repeated catch phrase.
The book is brightly illustrated in mostly primary colors for some additional learning as the book is read. At the end of the book there is a listing of all of the upper and lower case alphabet, yet another learning experience snuck in.
Once again, my daughter loves this book and "boom boom" were among her first words.
