Happy Birthday Steve Hockensmith

I would like to wish one of my favorite authors, Steve Hockensmith, a happy birthday today. Hockensmith was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He began his writing career as an entertainment journalist. He first published a mystery short story in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine in 2000. But it was his second published short story, Dear Mr. Holmes, that sparked his career as a mystery novelist. The story featured the crime solving cowboys Big Red and Old Red. He published several short stories featuring the crime solving brothers before publishing a novel titled Holmes on the Range. He has published three other novels in the series with newest, The Crack in the Lens, published this year.
