Daddy Daughter Day: Froggy Plays T-Ball by Jonathan London

Hip Hip Hooray! It is Friday! Time for another installment of Daddy Daughter Day. Today's book is Froggy Plays T-Ball by Jonathan London and illustrated by Frank Remkiewicz.

In this story, Froggy is excited about his first t-ball game. He jumps out of bed, gets dressed and eats his breakfast of cereal and flies. His father, who is also the coach, offers him some advice: "First, run to first. Second, run to second. Third, run to third. Then, run home!"

Once at the ball field, Froggy struggles to hit the ball. But he keeps trying. Finally, he hits a home run and begins running the bases. As you may have guessed already, once he leaves third base he starts running towards his house. Embarrassed at the mix up, Froggy runs to home plate and everything is all better. He even celebrates with a hot dog with fly relish.

This is a fun book that allows me to teach my little one to not give up and keep trying. She enjoys making "Rib-It" sounds all through the book. The book is very colorful and appealing. This one is already showing some wear from the number of times we have read it.

There are several books in the Froggy series including Froggy Goes to School, Froggy Learns to Swim, Froggy Goes to the Doctor and many more.
