Happy Birthday George R.R. Martin

Today is the birthday of author George R.R. Martin. He was born September 20, 1948 in Bayonne, New Jersey. He began writing at an early age, selling monster stories to neighborhood children. Martin received a B.S. and an M.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University. Martin has worked as a writer and producer on several television series including Beauty and the Beast and Twilight Zone. He is best known for his fantasy series of novels, A Song of Ice and Fire. George R. R. Martin is a member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America and the Writers' Guild of America, West.
