Daddy Daughter Day: Are You Ready To Play Outside

It is Friday and I am glad to see this week behind me. But, there is still a bit of unfinished business. It's Daddy Daughter Day once again! Today's book is Are You Ready to Play Outside? by Mo Willems.

Piggie and Gerald get themselves worked up about going outside to play. They talk about running, jumping and skipping. Then, it started to rain. At first Piggie was sad. But Gerald convinced him that they could have fun playing in the rain. They had a good time running, jumping and skipping in the rain. But then it stopped raining. Piggie had been having fun playing in the rain. Gerald helps his friend by spraying water from his trunk to simulate rain.

This is a fun story. The overall message to the child is that they can have fun in different situations, they just have to adapt their thinking a little.
