Daddy Daughter Day: Hello Kitty's Fall Surprise

It is Friday once again. It is rainy and cool here today, but that will stop another installment of Daddy Daughter Day. Today's book is one that we ordered through a book program with our daughter's day school. In researching the book for this post, I found that this particular book is only available through these type of programs. So, that is why I do not have a picture of the cover. The book is Hello Kitty's Fall Surprise.

This book is fun, if somewhat difficult at first, to read. Several of the words are replaced with pictures. You have to translate the picture into the appropriate word on the fly. Most of them are pretty obvious, this is a kid's book after all. I have trouble remembering Hello Kitty's friends names. Tracy and Kathy are along for this adventure. If you get confused, there is a set of flash cards at the back with all of the pictures and the corresponding words.

The three friends are out in the woods on a fall day and decide to collect leaves and pine cones. They come across a pile of acorns and decide to collect those as well. It is not until they meet a friendly squirrel that they realize the acorns are food. They quickly help the squirrel gather enough acorns to last through the winter.

My daughter is crazy for anything Hello Kitty. She has clothes, a purse, even a watch. She loves this book and we have to read it to her pretty often. Other than forgetting everyone's name, I have fun with this one too.

Any book you can share with your kids is a great one to me!
