When strange things begin happening to Nora she believes that Patch has something to do with it. She soon learns that Patch has a dark secret that puts her in serious danger.
I read the Twilight series about vampires. Now, I feel like I have read almost the same book, only with angels and not vampires. The similarities are a little too many for me to feel completely comfortable with. My favorite parts of this book were the pieces that strayed away from that same tired plot.
Do not take that as me saying I did not enjoy the book at all. The author's technique is solid and with most of the book being dialogue driven, it was a fast read. I believe I read it in just six hours. The tension between Nora and Patch is stimulating and enough to carry you through the story. The author has developed Nora into a strong young woman and you cannot help but like her.
I received an advance copy of this book for review and I have heard around the web that the ending is different in the final release. The ending I read felt a little rushed. There was plenty of build up about Patch's secret. In fact, I was not sure that I would learn as much as I did in the book. It looked like most of the answers would be delayed until another book. But, all was revealed rather quickly at the end.
I think this series has potential. I know a second book in the series is forthcoming. I really, really hope that it is not a stinker like New Moon. There are strong characters in place here, please give them a good story.
